Don’t Change A Thing

We are at the last day of our OMTL challenge and I hope it has been as beneficial for you as it has for me. I want to leave you with one final thought.

Wouldn’t it be great that if we were told we only had a month left that we wouldn’t have to change a thing? I mean what if you were living life every day in a way that let you and everyone else know that you were giving life your very best shot?

That is how I want my life to be. I don’t want to have to spend the last thirty days of my life trying to fix all the things that I was too prideful to admit early on. If we can somehow go along on a daily basis and understand that every day can be a great day and that we can live and love fully, then we can live our lives with no regrets.

So I challenge you to make necessary changes now so you don’t have to back track later in life. Every day that you let unforgiveness hang around it just gets harder to get over. Every day you wait to say “I love you”, just makes it that much more difficult to do.

Life is too short for you to stay mad! I want to live a life filled with joy and great memories and the only way that will happen is for me to give myself to God and let Him pour His love and mercy on me.

2 Timothy 4:7, 8 says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

I hope at the end of our lives we can all say we have fought a good fight. I hope we can say we have lived our life the best we can.

I challenge you to live your life now in such a way that when the time comes you won’t have to change a thing.

Seeds & Harvest

Today we are challenged to sow seed that will last far beyond our lifetime. As we look as this idea it is important to see what Jesus had to say about our treasures.

Matthew 6:19-21

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

It seems that we spend much of our time trying to gain more stuff for ourselves. That is how and why we get ourselves into so much debt. We want to plant a seed that brings a harvest the day of but the last time I checked, it takes time for a seed to grow into a fruit producing vine. The only place we see seeds growing and producing immediately is in fairy tales. Jack’s bean stalk was cool but it’s not real!

We can get ourselves so consumed with what we want right now that we forfeit the opportunity to plant seed that will last beyond our existence. That is why it is important that we stop and examine our lives and make sure that our motives are right and that we are planting in anticipation of being a blessing to someone else.

Treasures on this earth will be destroyed by moth and rust but the things that we do for God will last forever. When we worship Him we are storing up treasures in heaven. When we serve Him through building a foundation for our families we are storing up heavenly treasures. When we find someone in need and help them, we store up treasures in heaven.  Jesus said wherever our treasure is there our hearts will be.

The ultimate harvest is an eternity with the King of Kings, Jesus Christ!  What more could we ask for but to spend forever with the One who saved us from the clutches of hell.

When we know where our treasure lies it brings life those we are closest to. When we sow with others in mind it brings a harvest that is kissed by the very Presence of God.
