Our History

In the beginning of 2007, Steven and Shannon Morgan began to drive down the streets of downtown Columbia, asking God, “What can we do to make a difference.” Knowing that there were so many great churches already established in middle Tennessee, there was still a great awareness that there were still many broken hearts and broken lives that were yet to be reached. With tears in theirs eyes, they began to pray and ask God to use them to make a difference. And that’s just what God did and is doing! What began in spring of 2007, as a dream in the hearts of Steven and Shannon, and the homes of just a handful of people, now resonates in the hearts and lives of dozens of families who desire to see the Kingdom of God make a difference in the city of Columbia.

Destiny Church quickly moved from a home, to a building that God provided, located in historical downtown, one block from the courthouse and the town square. While currently holding services in that same building that has affectionately been labeled “the basement”, God has yet again provided another building adjacent to the current location that is serving as office buildings and a children’s facility. As Destiny Church continues to grow, the new building will continue to be remodeled to meet the growing needs of the Church. Although we are in the early stages as a Church, there continues to be an extraordinary level of excitement and commitment from all the people, that has come from a vision of what could be, and what should be. Steven, Shannon, and the staff of Destiny Church are excited about what God is doing, and welcomes all people who are walking through this journey called life wanting to find their Savior, their Purpose, and their Destiny.
